Julianne Alexandra Hough was born on July 20, 1988 in Orem, Utah to Bruce and Marianne Hough from a Mormon family.  This American personality is best remembered for her works with ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” that she won two times as a professional dancer in the said dancing competition.  But how well do you know Julianne?  Let us play some trivia to get know more about this captivating American dancer!

Julianne Alexandra Hough declined the ABC’s offer to be part of Dancing with the Stars. She recalled during an interview that when ABC offered her to dance in the show, she said no because she wants to be taken seriously as an actress. Good thing she changed her mind because the rest they say is history.   She went on to win Season 4 and Season 5 in the dancing competition with partners Apolo Ohno and Helio Castroneves respectively.

Julianne Hough’s first acting stint was uneventful.  In 2011, she bagged a tiny role in the movie Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone as one of the students at Hogwarts.  But she was not credited for her work.  But this did not discourage the aspiring actress because in 2010, she was part of the casts in the movie musical Burlesque staring Cher and Christina Aguilera.  Christina portrayed the role of a burlesque dancer in Los Angeles and earned a small measure of success while Julianne played as the co-worker of the former in the club.  After this, she earned her first leading role as an actress in the movie remake of Footloose opposite Kenny Wormald.  She also starred in the movie Rock of Ages based on the Broadway musical bearing the same title.  Her co-stars include Mary J. Blige and Tom Cruise, the former became a good friend of Julianne and she was amazed how the two clicked so well despite their diverse background especially in music.

Julianne Hough’s mother was very supportive of her career choice.  Julianne’s mother was no stage mother, but she was very instrumental why this American TV personality is enjoying a career in Hollywood. Her mother was so supportive that it was former who enrolled her offspring’s to different performing arts classes in her city.  Her first formal introduction to dancing was in Orem’s Center Stage for Performing Arts at the age of nine. When Julianne was 10, she went to London with the approval of her Mom to enroll in London’s Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts.

Julianne Hough’s released her first country music single in 2007. She recorded the song “Will You Dance with Me” and released it on iTunes and Wal-Mart with the intention of donating the proceeds to American Red Cross. The single did not do well, but it opened the door for her in the country music scene as Universal Music Group Nashville’s division took interest of her talent and signed her up.  In 2008, she released her self-titled album that went on to occupy at the Top of Country Music.  During that same year, she joined Brad Paisley’s 2008 tour in the company of other well-known figures like Willie Nelson, Jewel and Chuck Wicks.
